Club/Activities: Student Government

Governor French Academy does not have a formal governmental organization because our small size allows all of our students to function in a way that encourages communal governance.

There is probably no school that has as high a percentage of its students involved in public service, charitable activities, and real world activities. For example, Allister Byrd (class of 2009), has traveled all over the United States as a member of the Cultural Leadership Program, a group dedicated to introducing African-American and Jewish students and culture to each other. And, Andrea Sullivan (class of 2009) has served as a representative of the American Red Cross in numerous, successful blood drives.

The Governor French approach stresses actions rather than meetings. All too often student government is about the deliberation of an action, rather than action itself. Governor French Academy seeks to change that.
