The Academy's annual formal dinner dance is called Winterfest. Typically held near Valentine's Day, Winterfest is planned and executed by the Winterfest Committee comprised solely of GFA students with the guidance of a faculty member.
Winterfest Committee activities include site location, meal selection, choice of disc jockey and decorations. In addition, the committee is responsible for all fundraising events associated with sponsoring Winterfest.
Each year students volunteer to serve on the Winterfest Committee. Each year's committee is a combination of past members and new recruits.
